Liz DeLuna is a Professor of Graphic Design at St. John’s University in Queens, NY. When she's not teaching she runs main5design, a studio where she designs motion graphics for cable networks, public television and documentary films. Liz is passionate about motion graphics and typography. She researches historic letter forms and is especially drawn to grave stones, and other letter forms carved in stone. She is also is an avid letter press enthusiast. Liz is on the Board of Directors of the Type Directors Club, and Chair and Director of Programming for Design Incubation, a venue for educators and practitioners of communication design to discuss their design research and practice.
Liz acts as a visiting critic for classes and portfolio reviews at a variety of colleges and universities, including; SUNY Purchase, Parsons, SVA, UConn, Rowan University, CCNY and Rutgers. Her client list includes: Showtime, HBO, Cinemax, The History Channel, The Sundance Channel, TruTV, Cablevision, Bill Moyers’, Consuelo Mack Wealthtrack and PBS.
